King Shawl Jacket - Brown Hair on Hide

Originally founded in 2006, Attractions began as a vintage reseller, importing pieces from the United States and the UK before starting their own production in 2011. Their experience in the vintage world provided them with the knowledge and inspiration necessary to develop their own styles, growing into an impressive and very special brand in a market saturated with alternatives.

With a deliberate focus on highly specific and often obscure styles from the last hundred years, Attractions produce some truly stellar and unique pieces, occupying a stylistic wheelhouse closely adjacent to ""biker"" but plainly distinct from other similar repro brands. Inspired by the progression of youth culture and style, Attractions infuse their own perspective into both the pieces they design, and the ways they design them.

Inspired by casual ""Sportswear"" (really meaning ""neither workwear nor formalwear"") jackets from the 1920s and 30s, the King Shawl Jacket is one of the most handsome and well executed shawl-collar leather jackets we've ever seen. It's absolutely packed with small but clearly considered details, from the elasticated bands at the sides of the hem, to the tonal snaps, to the orientation of the pockets - everything is as elevated as it can be.

It's made from an extremely handsome vegetable-tanned horsehide leather with a specialty casein finish that imbues a rich texture and noticeable shine across the surface. Over time, this leather will darken slightly in tone, developing a subtle patina as it takes in light and moisture from the environment. Paired with this leather is a hair-on-horsehide body and shawl collar that really steal the show and cement this as one of our favorite leather jackets ever.

Please note, due to the nature of horsehair, no two jackets will be exactly alike, and you may observe slight differences in texture, color, and tone compared to what is photographed here. These are natural products, made from formerly living animals, and are expected to have some variation.

The fit is excellent too, with a slightly more contemporary spin on the 30s shape that inspired it, the body is cut a little longer, so as to not depend on high rise trousers for the correct silhouette. With a slightly relaxed fit through the chest, it's easy enough to layer under, but absolutely wearable with just a single shirt or tee underneath as well.

Inside, the body is lined with a twisted yarn tweed fabric, primarily made from a wool/cotton blend (with a few synthetics thrown in for stability and durability). As a nod to tailoring details from the 1920s, the lining is affixed as one piece, resulting in an incredibly clean interior that Attractions have further upgraded with an additional bucket pocket for extra safe storage. The sleeves are lined with a 100% cotton fabric, so that you never have to deal with the sensation of tweed on bare skin if you wear this jacket with short sleeves underneath.

The final details are no less important than those preceding them, with a ""hidden"" button and loop collar, as well as the aforementioned elasticated bands at the hem, which are barely noticeably unless you're looking for them, but do a hell of a lot to enhance the drape and silhouette of this already stellar jacket.
